Red Bull needed to extend the Stratos Jump beyond its historic live broadcast.
Red Bull needed to extend the Stratos Jump beyond its historic live broadcast.
Rather than preserving the mission as a one time event, the challenge was to transform it into an immersive experience that could travel across Europe and allow new audiences to explore the jump through physical installations, digital storytelling, and interactive technologies. The experience needed to communicate the scale, innovation, and ambition behind the mission while creating a coherent visitor journey across multiple interactive touchpoints.

My Contribution
As Lead UX Architect, I defined the overall experience vision and visitor journey for the touring experience.
I developed the experience architecture, interaction concept, navigation, and storytelling framework that connected physical installations with digital experiences into one coherent narrative.
Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, I translated the original Stratos mission into an immersive visitor experience that combined interactive installations, second screen interactions, and augmented reality across multiple touchpoints.
Design Principles
Extend the live event beyond the broadcast
Connect physical and digital experiences
Guide visitors through one coherent journey
Create immersion through interaction
Encourage exploration instead of observation
Make complex stories accessible
Key Design Decisions
Rather than presenting the Stratos Jump as a traditional exhibition, the experience was designed as an interactive journey.
Digital storytelling, augmented reality, second screen experiences, and physical installations worked together to guide visitors through different aspects of the mission. Instead of passively consuming information, visitors explored the story through multiple interactive touchpoints that connected science, engineering, and the human achievement behind the jump.
Outcome
The project transformed the Stratos Jump into a travelling brand experience that extended the original mission beyond its live broadcast.
By combining immersive installations, interactive media, and augmented reality, the experience enabled audiences across Europe to explore the mission through a series of connected physical and digital interactions. The touring format allowed Red Bull to continue engaging audiences long after the original event had taken place.
Key Outcome
190,000+
Visitors experienced the installation.
International Tour
Germany, Austria and Salzburg.
Bronze
SDV Award
The project demonstrated how immersive experience design can extend the lifespan of a global live event.
More than 190,000 visitors experienced the installation before it continued as an international touring exhibition. By combining physical installations with digital interaction and augmented reality, the project showed how experience design can create lasting engagement beyond a single broadcast. The work was recognised with a Bronze SDV Award in the Ambient, Event & POS Campaigns category.
